DESCERIPTION:
CSC present for sale this fantastic low mileage 1988 Porsche 944 Lux finished in Ocean Blue metallic with contrasting light grey pin-stripe cloth interior.
Externally, the Bodywork of this car presents very well with no major marks or blemishes and with straight & constant panel gaps all round. The 15-inch Tele-dial alloy wheels are in superb un-marked condition and set the car off perfectly. Standard period features of the 944 are the large electrically operated tilting sunroof panel which can also be removed for a ‘targa’ style open air experience, the large rear spoiler and of course, Pop-Up headlights.
Internally, the black light-grey pin-stripe cloth works well with the dark blue exterior and makes for a very light, airy and comfortable cabin. The interior trim remains in very nice condition with no major wear and just a light age-related patina to show for its 36 years. All electrical items and switches including sunroof and rear hatch release all work as they should, including the digital clock (which is a rarity in a 944 these days)!
The car is has been fitted with a later Pioneer Radio / CD head-unit offering DAB radio, USB & iPhone input and Bluetooth Connectivity for a slightly more up-to-date media experience than available in 1988.
One of the 944’s best features is its real world practicality. The rear offers 2+2 seating (ideal for small children) and a rear luggage area which allows plenty of room for a trip away or even the weekly shopping trip. The rear seat back also folds flat to increase the luggage area even more for those longer trips. Under the luggage area carpet you’ll find the space saver spare wheel, jack and tool-kit roll.
At the front of the car, the engine bay is clean, tidy and in good order with original factory stickers still in place. The engine starts at the first turn of the key and idles smoothly.
On the road the car drives really well and with a smoothness more associated with a straight 6 than a straight 4. The non-power assisted steering feeling light and accurate on the move returns all the road surface feedback a driver could want. The 5 speed rear mounted gearbox is a joy to operate with a light clutch and a positive gear change. Brakes are good and pull the car up in a straight line with little fuss.
The power delivery is smooth and progressive as you change up through the 5 speed rear mounted gearbox and the car offers the perfect balance of an old-school 1980’s coupe with modern day ride comfort and handling.
Once on the move, the 944’s legendary 50/50 weight distribution makes for a great driving experience on the open road.
