We present for sale this early production classic E39 Alpina B10 3.2 finished in stunning Blue Metallic with contrasting Grey leather interior, and one of just 59 UK B10 3.2 saloons sold between 1997 and 1998.

Following the end of production of Alpina’s E34 B10 in 1996, the E39 B10 was launched in 1997 with a 3.2 litre engine based on BMW’s 2.8 litre straight six unit of the time. Only 266 E39 3.2 B10’s were built with just 64 coming to the UK (59 of which were saloons) before the engine size was increased for the 1999 model.

This example, No. 065 remains in largely standard factory specification and as the photographs show, presents very well with clean, straight bodywork and an interior which wears its 20 years extremely well. All the original Alpina details remain including the body kit, alloy wheels, steering wheel and the individually numbered build plaque.

Thanks to the fantastic build quality of these E39’s, the car shows very few signs of wear and all the electrics appear to work as they should including the electric sun-roof, the original radio, the multi-function steering wheel, cruise control and the air conditioning.

Performance of the 3.2 is still impressive by today’s standards with a 0-62mph time of under 7 seconds and a top speed well in excess of twice the UK speed limit. However, the plush interior of the E39 is more akin to a GT car which makes for a very comfortable long distance cruiser with enough power to cover great distances at speed.

Once behind the wheel, the car drives really well with the engine pulling strongly and smoothly in all gears. Performance is on tap as required and the gearbox, brakes and steering all feel smooth & precise as they should. The suspension remains firm but comfortable giving the Alpina a secure and precise feel on the move.

In summary, a very clean early production E39 B10, which still, 20 years on, offers surprising levels of comfort and performance with classic BMW looks and long term investment potential.

This B10 was signed off by the Alpina factory in Buchloe, Germany on 2nd June 1998, and first registered in the UK on 1st August 1998 at Halliwell Jones BMW in Chester to a local Doctor. The supplying dealer then serviced and maintained the car until 2006 when a local independent garage took over the regular servicing.

The service records show 12 BMW main dealer service stamps by the supplying dealership and then 7 further service stamps from a single local based independent garage.

The B10 remained with its original owner until November 2005 when it was purchased by another local resident who then kept the car for a further 10 years. In 2016 when the 2nd owner mentioned selling the car to the independent garage which had been maintaining the car, the garage owner purchased the B10 for himself as a weekend toy.

The current MOT is valid until the 28th June 2019 and shows no advisory points at the last test. The car is HPi clear a copy of which is available with the car which comes with all its original BMW owners wallet containing the various Hand Books & Service record.

Our Alpina B10 M3 is priced at £8,995 including 3 months Warranty.
