CSC present for sale this E30 BMW 320i Saloon which has been very nicely restored with some subtle upgrades along the way to make a fantastic useable modern classic and fun to drive car. Built by the owners of ProMod Performance originally as a ‘keeper’ this E30 has been restored to a very high standard.
The bodywork was restored using genuine new BMW body panels where necessary and subtlety upgraded along the way with M Tech Body styling and is beautifully set off by the 15’’ Period OZ King Alpina Style alloy wheels and the ‘M Sport’ Side stripes. The body lines are beautifully straight and the paintwork is to a very high standard.
Underneath, the car features a 325i rear axle and drive train conversion which includes rear brake discs to replace the original 320i drum brakes. The chassis has been fully poly-bushed using Powerflex Purple parts and the brakes feature ‘J-Hook’ performance discs and uprated brake pads to enhance stopping power.
Internally, the car is again in excellent condition with virtually unmarked cloth seats and carpets. Interior trim is also in very good condition for the cars age with a few minor age related marks here and there to give a slight patina as you would expect, but this does not affecting the overall look and feel of the car or detract from its appeal.
The period M Tech 3 Spoke Steering Wheel completes the package nicely whilst adding a nice touch to the cars steering feel whilst a modern Kenwood DAB Radio/CD head unit has been fitted bringing a touch of modern 21st Century to the party (pre-tuned to Absolute 80’s naturally)!!
The original 2.0 straight six engine has been retained and runs beautifully with enhanced sound from a sports exhaust system. The engine bay itself is clean and presentable, enhanced by the fitment of a modern silicone hose set and retains the original factory build stickers and VIN details.
On the road, the car is a pleasure to drive and reminds you what ‘proper’ driving is all about. The engine is smooth with good power delivery and the transmission positive in selection, helped by a ‘short shift’ kit. Steering is good and full of driver feed-back thanks to a re-conditioned steering rack, and the uprated brakes feel firm and positive.
Overall then, a nicely presented and fun to drive affordable modern classic BMW E30 with all major jobs completed – ready to be cherished and enjoyed by the next lucky owner.
