DESCRIPTION:
CSC are excited to offer for sale this beautifully presented, low ownership 1M Coupe finished in the official launch colour of stunning Valencia Orange. Just 450 examples of this rare model would be made available to the UK market.

The 1M began as an internal development project, in effect a ‘skunkworks’ project by BMW’s M division to develop a small, compact baby M car based on the E82 generation 1 Series namely the M135i for the true driving enthusiast.

With a limited budget, the car was to be developed using a mixture of existing BMW and M parts borrowed from the likes of the then current M3. The engine chosen as the base power plant was the 3.0 N54 used in the Z4 though the addition of twin turbos would see a dramatic increase in power and performance.

Using the 3.0 DOHC 24v straight six engine from the Z4, the M3 donated suspension, brakes, limited slip differential, CSL Style 19” alloy wheels and aero wing mirrors. The width of the M3 rear axle the cars track width, and bodywork had to be changed which led to the cars signature wide arch style and stunning looks not to mention much improved handling and grip.

The result was a 2 door coupe with 50:50 weight distribution, twin turbos offering 335bhp mated to a 6-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels via a limited slip differential with M3 brakes and suspension and stunningly aggressive body styling, an M legend in the making.

The project was a huge success and a limited production of around 6,000 examples world-wide was planned. The allocation of 450 cars was made available to the UK for sale in 2011. The 1M Coupe was available in just three colours, Valencia Orange, Black Sapphire or Alpine White though a list of options would be available to allow an element of personalisation. The model sold out quickly and the cars success and praise as one of the best M cars to date undoubtedly lead to the development and production of the M2 model.

The Valencia Orange exterior of this example presents beautifully and defies it’s age and use with no significant marks or damage. The car has been owned by the current and 3rd owner since September 2015 with a mileage of 20,000.

On the inside, this 1M was optioned with some nice features such as heated seats with memory position, professional radio electric folding mirrors along with a dealer optioned switchable Akrapovic sports exhaust system. The Black Boston Leather and Alcantara trim along with carpets etc remain in superb condition with no major signs of wear.

On the road, these 1M Coupes are an absolute joy for any enthusiast driver. Extremely practical with huge amounts of power and grip, with a manual transmission and without the excess of intrusive driver aids found in todays offerings all come together to make for a real driver’s car, and one which has gained the reputation as one of the best M cars of all time. The perfect combination of a usable and investible M car.

HISTORY:
The car was first registered by Park Lane BMW on 23rd December 2011 and returned to the dealership for its running-in check in February 2012. The car was purchased by the 2nd owner in October 2013 and was serviced and maintained by Vines BMW in Redhill where the 1m was later purchased by the current owner in November 2015 having covered 20,005 miles in its first 4 years.

The current owner has had the car regularly serviced and maintained by local BMW dealerships, namely Sandal BMW of Huddersfield and Williams BMW Rochdale throughout their 10 year period of ownership.
